Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
Do you take my insurance?
I’m not paneled with any insurance providers, meaning you’ll need to pay out of pocket and get reimbursement (if possible) from your insurance provider. I’ll send you a superbill with all the information you need to send to your provider. Most insurance companies provide reimbursement for therapy.
What should I ask my insurance provider?
1) Do I have out-of-network benefits?
2) Do I have a deductible and if so, what is it?
3) What is the maximum number of visits per year?
4) If there is no reimbursement, can I set up a “single-case agreement”?
5) What is the out-of-network reimbursement rate for the following procedure codes?
90834 (individual 45-minute psychotherapy) and 90837 (individual 60 plus minutes psychotherapy)
What is EMDR therapy?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a treatment modality that uses bilateral stimulation (side to side eye movement, tapping, or sound) to stimulate the adaptive processing of information, experiences and events. It is especially helpful for processing events that were traumatic or too overwhelming when they happened for us to digest. It can help integrate the things we know rationally with the parts of ourselves that are stuck responding to the past. And yes, we can do it virtually.
